Harrogate 2 week accomodation

Any self catering options or short term apartment options in Harrogate? One person for August.

Hundreds! However they fill up fast as it's always busy here (Conference town), plus July/August is peak time for tourists. It can also be a very expensive place to stay. I think your best bet might be to contact the Tourist Board giving them more details including your budget. Here's the link -

....and as Morgana will know, the Majestic recently had a big fire, closing the hotel for some time. Consequently rooms will be even more at a premium in the town.

Those who may have been booked at the Majestic will by now have rebooked.

The local paper seems to suggest the Majestic might not be closed for too long - think the fire was mainly contained to the staff quarters. Tragically, one man (member of staff) lost his life in the blaze.
I was just laughing at a story that Prince Harry dropped into Harrogate last week for a burger and a beer at Banyan Bar. A local woman in the bar told him she had just started up business as a Wedding Planner and handed him her business card! If know Yorkshire folk that sort of enterprise won't be surprising!

I read that the majority of the damage had been due to water cascading through the building as it took the firemen quite a time to put out the blaze. The staff quarters were on the 5th floor it said, so all the public rooms and quite a number of bedrooms were affected.

Has that been revisited now?
