Hamburg: Europe's Hidden Gem!

I just got back from spending three beautiful days in Hamburg. The city is amazing, and is certainly one of the most overlooked places in Europe.

It is located right on the water, with the Elbe and the two large lakes providing much of the city's beauty. There are lots of attractions, including boat cruises, architectre tours, and museums.

I also ate well there. From small hole-in-the-wall places to Michelin starred ones, there is a lot of really good cuisine offered in the city.

I wrote about the trip on my blog, and put lots of photos and videos on the post if you want to see more: http://www.aladyinlondon.com/2011/07...rg-travel.html.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

(On review of your extensive list of cities travelled, I see no Switzerland. What's up with that?)

I enjoyed your trip. How did you get the hotel to give you a complimentary room? (or did I misread that part of the blog?)
Nice pictures and short video clip. Makes me want to go.

It's nice to know you had a great time there. It's indeed a wonderful place. I have been there and I could not agree more to everything that you said.

I second your recommendation of O'ren Ishii for lunch.
In fact we may have been there at the same time.
