Hélène Darroze Paris!

Keith and I will be in Paris in August to attend to the Countess de Billy. We are going to stay overnight in Versailles to see the palace and grounds.

Whilst in Paris, we want to dine at Hélène Darroze.

Have any of you darlings dined here?

Do tell.

Thin🐩

Thin,
Did you dine at les Climats when you last visited Paris? Did you enjoy it?
I'll look forward to reading about your experience at Hélène Darroze.
Merci bien!

Hélène Darroze*has two restaurants in Paris. I went to her new Joia a few months ago. The reviews from my party were mixed. I thought my moules were the best I’ve ever had.

Thin.....went to Darroze last year and while it was very nice, not nearly so as Les Climats was to me........Climats was more sophisticated and elegant.....Food at Darroze was very good, but, it just lacked something that made me want to hurry back.

Thanks, Traviata.

We wanted to try someplace new. I have been to Violon d'Ingres about 4 times.

We loved loved Les Climats, and also Pottoka.

Maybe Le Ze Kitchen?

The website of Hélène Darroze says that the restaurant that bears her name is closed for renovation until further notice. Should have reopened by August but it basically invalidates any of the old reviews. Some of the staff and chefs may have changed in the intervening months.

Thin,

You might want to try Philippe Excoffier. Just down the street from Pottoka. Have been there several times and thoroughly enjoyed.

Thin.......we have enjoyed Le Baudelaire in the Hotel Le Burgundy. Had lunch twice and tea once and it was lovely. I think you might like it.

Thank you, Traviata. Baudelaire looks like a possibility.

Mmmmmmmm-- seared scallops! I do think that's a good test of a kitchen, if they can prepare amazing seared scallops.

I know this isn't what you asked for, Thin, but since you're going in August, have you ever tried one of the rooftop terrace bars/restaurants in Paris? We've started trying them out on summer trips, and some of them are quite delightful. We haven't dined at one yet, though, just had drinks and snacks.
