Greek Island suggestions for 2 Single Women in their 30's
My friend and I are planning a trip in Sept. Our tickets have been purchased but we haven't made any hotel reservations. Do you think we will have a problem finding a nice place to stay when we get there? We want something on the nicer side but don't want to loose any limbs while we're in Greece.

September is off season so you should be ok. Personally, I always have the first night booked - who wants to get off a plane and wander around looking for a hotel? Calling a day ahead or even same day to book hotels along the way is a good idea.
You have tickets? To Athens and then your not sure where from there? Depends on you interests. Are you looking for nightlife/partying, ancient site and museums, beaches/hiking? Do you like a crowd or are you partial to the far and away....
Give us some more info.
Why would you loose a limb?
I don't get it.
Good Travels,
Murphy

Personally, in Mykonos I would stay in town and day-trip to the various beaches. Great, easy bus access to the beaches and failing that short distances make taxies a good option. I stayed in Hotel Phillipe - I got a deal at 42Euros/night in June. Very central - right in the heart of things. I found Hotel Phillipe through my Lonely Planet guide (which I chucked to make room for honey on the way home - so I don't know the #).
Santorini. Well, if you want to be within walking distance of a beach you might want to consider maybe Perissa. However, my choice would be to stay in Fira for nightlife then day-trip to the various beaches as above. I stayed in Oia, so my hotel recommendation wont work....
Never been to Ios so hopefully, someone else can chime in. Also, there have been lots of posts on accomodation in Fira here, so try typing it in the "search" box and see what you can come up with that way as well.

I just returned from a trip with my friend last month, we are in our 30s. We stayed in Oia, which is calmer and more hooneymoonish than Fira. I could not have styed in Fira, it was way to chaotic for me. But, if nightlife is important, this is the center of it all in Santorini.
There is also the option of staying in Kamari. I stayed there my first time in Santorini. You will not have the Caldera view though. You would have the beach right there and some nightlife. It may be a good option if you are not going to have a car. Also near here is Ancient Thira & there is horseback riding. It is a small island though, and you can take taxis.
