Goldiept

Further to P_M's comments, are you or your daughter sensitive to olive oil? I've known a few folks over the years that have had some problems with it but only because it is used so widely when our Greek friends cook. If you are both OK with oil then you'll love the different flavours.

Thanks Bill,
No, no olive oil problems, thank goodness.

With everyone's comments, I think we will be OK. It is a relief to know how fresh things. Looking forward to eating without worry and drinking bottled water.

You went to Morocco but are worried about Greece? What?? Greece is a first world country. Sorry. That sounds rather forward, but I am really surprised.

Yes but the wonderful thing about this forum is that folks can ask the question. I know it's safe, and you know it's safe but Goldiept didn't. It is good that she can seek advice bearing in mind that her daughter is prone to stomach ailments.

Grapes: I know this might sound ridiculous to you but we had an insane germ experience once (not to mention other lesser ones in other countries) and I am just making sure. This, after washing hands, staying away from taboo foods - the whole nine. I have read about some of the villages without electricity, etc. and wondering about the purity of the water in those places in particular.

If you have ever sat in a room with your kid puking for days on end, then feeling sick for another 6 months, losing precipitous weight, etc., I hope you would be taking every precaution as well.

I feel assured from everyone's posts that there is nothing to worry about.

Billbar: Thanks. You, of course, understand what this forum is supposed to be about and why we come here with our queries.
