Great train tour recommendations from Paris or London...
My father has this idea to take the Concorde to Europe, then come back the NEXT day?! I told him he was crazy! He travels alone, but likes to take the train here in the US, so I'm looking for recommendations of train routes or tours out of London or Paris. He is also interested in WWII battle sites, ie Normandy.
My father took the QEII to London a few years ago, then was scheduled to take the Concorde back, but then it was grounded. He spent several days in London, then flew home. This was his only trip to Europe. He is 60 yrs old, relatively fit and a sightseer. Thank you for any ideas.

Hi Megan,
Gee. I don't think he's crazy. Profligate, perhaps. Think of the fun he'll have telling people he flew to paris for dinner and came back the next morning before he left Paris.
To combine his two interests, I suggest dinner at the Train Bleu restaurant located in the new Gare de Lyon.
