Great restaurants in Scotland

My husband and I are looking for recommendations for fabulous restaurants in Edinburgh, Inverness, around Argyll and on Skye. We welcome suggestions of any places that you found to be exceptional and are more concerned about the quality of food and the atmosphere than the type of cuisine.

This is a second posting because I forgot to select a search topic.

Hi,
My two favourite restaurants in Edinburgh are 'The Witchery' on the High St and 'Stac Polly' on Dublin St.
The Witchery ( www.thewitchery.com )is a real treat. For 3 courses plus wine you're looking at about y120 for two. Stac Polly is a bit more reasonable (www.stacpolly.com ).
Enjoy !

We stayed at the Taychreggan Hotel on Loch Awe in Argyll, and were served the best meals I had in Scotland. They also have a wonderful wine list.

I am told that the Ardanaseig Hotel, very nearby to the Taychreggan, is even better!

Hope this helps!

In Edinburgh, there are a lot of restaurants along Rose Street in the new town area across the park from the Royal Mile. One I like is the Bad Ass Cafe. Try the banofee pie; it's to die for.

For a quick lunch bite, try Two Thin Laddies in the Grassmarket. I love the name!
