Great Hotel in Rome

We just returned from a fantastic trip to Italy and wanted to share a great hotel in Rome. Rezidenza Cellini is just a gem of a hotel. The hotel has only 6 rooms and they are beautiful. This was the best hotel we stayed in on our trip. Our room was approx. 150-170 Euro including a nice breakfast. The room was huge and had a large bathroom with a jacuzzi. We brought small gifts to Donado, the owner and he brought to our room some "Spomante" on ice and munchies. What a perfect first night. Donado had fabulous suggestions on restaurants to go to (The ones that he and his wife frequent) and great "non" touristy ideas for places to go. He even told us the best place to go see the sun set!!! What a romantic. Donado and his brother are absolutly gorgeous to top it off!!!! I HIGHLY suggest this hotel. It is centrally located and easy to find. We walked everywhere from here. (The only place a bit far is St. Peters, but we took a cab.)

Book the hotel early, because with only 6 rooms, he feels up fast! It is a GREAT Place!

April

Wow! I also just returned from a wonderful trip to Italy and stayed at Residenza Cellini. I would go so far to say it is the best hotel I ever stayed at. I say this for many reasons...I had a tough time deciding where to stay and asked so many questions, when booking, and they were patiently answered (and I mean alot of questions). And then, when we arrived we were delighted to see that the hotel was indeed beautiful and accessible to so much. It was so clean that you could eat off the floors! They were so good to us (and yes, Donato is especially nice looking!). They were soooo kind to us - from helping us with our tour/meal plans, to finding a doctor to come to the hotel for our son who got sick in Italy, to the little presents they gave him. When we were checking out, they informed us that all of our room service was complimentary because they didn't place flowers in our room every day as usual due to our young child (preventing possible mess). Of course, we knew nothing about the flowers in the first place. Which reminds me, the hotel smelled wonderful as soon as you walked in. And it was so relaxing - in the midst of the craziness of Rome. I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Rome. You could not possibly be disappointed!!! Enjoy! We have many found memories of Residenza Cellini!

We were only there one night on September 19! I wish I was back. I hope your son is fine. We didn't take our two boys, but next trip we will. They are 3 and 6 and I really wanted them with us this time. We are already planning a return trip in 2-3 years. (It is our 3rd trip to Italy and we really should try somewhere else, but WHY....when Italy is so magical!

Hi April!
Just missed you. We checked out on Sept. 16. Our son is fine, thanks. He had a bad flu which we caught when we got home - nobody likes to be sick but at least we dealt with it at home. Our son is two, and they were so good to him so rest-assured if you stay there again with your kids this time, they will treat you like gold!
