Last time I was at CDG, I noticed that the creme of cassis was a particularly good value for US travelers; much more of a discount between the airport price and US prices than most other spirits.

Wondering, go to www.epicurious.com and put "amond paste" in the search box; you will get lots of recipes using the product.

As for Maille in Paris, there are 3 types of mustard that you can buy directly from the vats - they fill the jars from a beer tap like contraption. You purchase the jar to put it in and they fill it with your choice of mustard (basically mild, hot, hotter!). You can bring the jar back to be refilled at a nominal cost. it makes a great gift and we always bring the jars back to be refilled (I think this year we have about 5!)

When naming a store, can people please put what arrondisment it is in or better yet the address.

Too funny about the goats in the trees.

jetsetj--Yes, you can buy just one. Price depends on the size, there are a couple options. I don't remember the prices exactly, but I think a small one is around 1.5euro or so. They are soooooo good!!!!!!!!

I second all the above; but if you are into art, stop by Galerie Documents, on rue du Seine. Great posters and prints. The family who own this tiny shop have been in business for over 50 years, and I have been a customer for much of that time. Great stuff, well priced. Ask for Murielle.

My favourite macaroons from Laduree are dark chocolate and pistachio.
There is a very nice Laduree on Rue Bonaparte, just down the street from Deux Maggots. This shop is less crowded than the shop in the Rue Royale.

In the past BHV has had a great selection of fabric, but the fabric department has changed in the last couple of years. It's worth checking there though.
In Montmartre, Marche St. Pierre has a huge selection of fabrics. I believe it's on Rue de Ronsard.

At Laduree, don't make the mistake I made the first time I went to Laduree. I went there for breakfast and noticed interesting things called macaroon. I bought a few and took with me to the airport. I ate them in the departure area and realized I made a huge mistake not buying as much macaroons as I could carry in my carry-on.
