Grande Pensao Residencial Alcobia....Any reviews?

Thinking about staying here in November post cruise. It gets good reviews with a few negatives, but the very few negatives are worrisome...ie "bad neighborhood", "red light district", "prostitutes outside".
I find them hard to believe so please help me>

funjione,

How many nights are you staying? How many people and what is your budget?

At this very moment, I am sitting in a beautiful apt that I am renting for my 12 day stay. It is just down the street from Rossio Square but in the nicer area of Chiado and across the street from a very expensive Hotel.

There are a number of people on this site that are considering or that have already booked this apt. If you are interested, I can send you the info as well. The owner is very nice and accomadating and the apt again is very nice.

We will only be there for 2 nights as we spend one night with the ship as our hotel. I thought about staying in Chiado but read it was very noisy at night and a bar scene, which we are not into. Nice retaurants and music is more our thing. We want to keep our budget to 50=60 Euros per night.
Is the area around Rossio Square and Praca dos Figeuroa not a good area to stay? What about Praca de Restauradores? Thanks for your help.

funjione,
As I said before, I am in the Chiado area right now. In fact, I am on the Pracas Luis De Camoes Square. It is very busy/bustling and can be quite noisy but when it is time for bed, we just close the windows and the shutters and it becomes very quiet. No problems. We ate dinner at the Praca de Restauradores(sp?) tonight. I think that would be an area that I would stay away from late at night. Matt and Lobo could give much better advice than I and if they do not post soon, I will ask them tomorrow evening as we are meeting for dinner.
