Grand Mosque of Paris

Hi
I've been all over their website and can't find information on when it is open to visitors. I'm assuming Friday is out, but if anyone can point me to visitors information, I'd appreciate it.

I couldn't see the hours on their site either but I have some old opening information.

Saturday - Thursday 9:00 - 12:00 and 2:00 - 6:00

If you arrive during these hours you should be ok to enter (except Friday).

I understand that the Café de la Mosquée de Paris is open from 08:00 to 22:00, but I believe that the the mosque is only open from 09:00-noon and 14:00-18:00, Saturday through Thursday (closed Fridays and Muslim holidays).

I did visit the Mosque and found it a bit disappointing. I didn't expect to go into the prayer area, but the public areas were not remarkable.

It's not like the mosques in Istanbul but I thought it was interesting. Did you have tea in the garden?

It is worth visiting the Islamic centre which is over towards the Seine from the mosque. I'd even look at an evening meal on the top floor, great views and the food is good

Well, I've been several times, including in the prayer area, and I think it's quite lovely. Not overly ornate, but very pretty. The public areas of mosques all over the world are much less intricately designed than the interiors. Some are quite spare in all areas. I love the tea room at the mosque - really delightful place to have a snack and tea on a nice afternoon. And the baths are wonderful!
