Going to Rome soon and need accomodations.

We will be traveling to Rome in early December, we've booked a hotel, but I've read some recent terrible reviews. Can anyone suggest a hotel near Piazza Navona? We will arrive by car but will be returning it the day we check into a hotel. We are looking for a hotel that has staff on duty 24/7, exceptionally clean and safe. Any suggestions? A huge thanks in advance.

We stayed four days at the Residenza Canali ai Coronari near Piazza Navona. The location was super, the hotel was very clean ,nice bathroom, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was plentiful.
We enjoyed our stay there.

Try Albergo del Senato, it is close to Piazza Navona in the same square as the Pantheon.

It is easier if you go to booking.com or venere.com and plug in your travel dates and budget and see what is available. You can read up-to-date reviews on these websites.

You should get rid of your car before you attempt to drive it anywhere near the piazza Navona or the historic center.

As mentioned, best to dump the car before you get to Piazza Navona - here's a post with a few Rome ZTL maps: http://tinyurl.com/Rome-ZTL

As far as in Piazza Navona, there are many great Hotels; I like the Hotel Raphael but it is pricey. For the "best" ranked hotels by guests who have stayed in them, you might read: http://tinyurl.com/hotels-navona

http://www.gambrinushotel.com is 2 stops of metro away from Piazza Navona, but if you felle like walking 3 km can be a pleasant promenade being in Rome. Very kind staff.

I've never taken the metro in Rome. Too much good stuff to see as you walk. But we've always stayed in the Piazza Navona/Spanish Steps/Campo dei Fiori area where there are a lot of hotels. No need to waste time underground in the subway.
