going to florence next week

going to florence on a whim next week. first time there. will only be able to spend thurs, fri, sat and sun nights.

looking for a clean, cheap place to stay. any recommendations on short notice? didn't think it would be too much of a problem to find a place in november, but could be wrong!
You could try Hotel Medici--it's at your price. It's a two star; great location, but it's a little worn (thus the two star).

It has a roof-top garden which overlooks the Duomo. This summer two of us stayed there—170,000 lire for two, bathroom in room, breakfast included.

Hotel Medici
web: www.promhotels.it/home/medici

Telephone: 011-39-041-520-3755

Deborah

yes - go for a 3 star hotel - more to choose from and more reliable....Belletini, Il Guelfo Bianco, Calziouli, etc.

I was there 3 wks ago. Bellettini at 200,000 lira (88.00) inc very nice cont brkfast. Room 26 was nice king bed/armoire. Interesting bathroom set up, room was quiet. The hotel was full the entire time we were there.
www.firenze.net/hotelbellettini
They have an annex also we talked to some ladies that had a room there they said the room was huge but I dont know if the price was the same.

Kathy, would you elaborate on the "interesting bathroom set up" at the Belletini? We are considering this hotel for our visit to Florence next year.

Thanks.
