Well, Lance went, and now he is gone from the Tour de France.
I can make a case for him being among the elite of all athletes. Has anyone been more dominant in his or her sport at the highest level?

Even if you can think of someone, they hadn't come back from the dead.
He was the first winner to be allowed to speak from the podium. He finally got to tell the naysayers/disbelievers what he thinks of them. A great man and a great champion.

Yeah, he's gone -- to <b>7th Heaven</b>! Kind of sad we won't see him in competition anymore, I'm going to miss him but his legacy will live on.

He is for sure one of those in the pantheon of &uuml;ber-elite atheletes. There are others; Woods, Bird, Gretzky, Jordan , Chamberlain come to mind.

I found it very odd that they changed the sprint rules after the race was over. Unless, that is, that the OLN commentators were mistaken.

They didn't change the sprint rules per se. They did not give intermediate points for sprints but did give the stage win points/time which allowed Vinocurov to move up. I think if anyone didn't understand there would have been a protest before the awards ceremony.
