Glasgow and Loch Lomond

Hi,

I will be visiting Scotland and have a query about one of my base - Glasgow

Will arrive on a Saturday and leave on Wednesday. During this trip I was thinking of going to Loch Lomond for a day. Now I search travelline and found the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park. Question is this...are 2 days enough for Glasgow? Shall I go on Sunday to Loch Lomond? What exactly is this national park?

You could spend a week seeing Glasgow, but 2 days is also fine. Loch Lomond is lovely and would give you a nice day out of the city. Will you have a car to get to Loch Lomond? Here's some info about the National Park http://www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/

There is a train from Glasgow that gets you to Balloch which is at the south end of the loch, you can get a boat trip from there. There's probably a bus, but you'd have to search for that.

The OP will be traveling in October. I'd only do the trip to Loch Lomond if the weather's good. Otherwise, there's lots of indoor stuff in Glasgow.

That kinda holds at any time of year, sadly....Loch Lomond is the mist and rain has a certain charm, but it doesn't last long!
