gites rental from monday-monday

hi there,

have any fellow fodorites ever rented a gites in provence from monday-monday (or for a week starting on any day OTHER than saturday)? if so, could you please share your stories/details/ experiences?

i'd like arrive in provence on monday, september 29th and stay for one week ... considering B&Bs or gites. but i've noticed that most gites rent from sat-sat.

thanks.

June no problem, a lot of the gites advertising on web but as part of tourist info will have a diary up and you can book the free days. Not sure about gite-de-france as I hate to see their prices

A bit more. If you have chosen the area in Provence you want to go visit the "Department" web site then look for the accomodation route and gite pages. This normally gives you access to loads more gites than g-d-f and more flexible arrangements. However unless your french is up to a call you may be constrained by those who receive email (and a short wait)

Sorry your other question. Took one next to the Tarn in the Gorge. Owner was a delight but she wanted an international money order to her bank as part of the deposit. (Banques Francais sont fou) actually we just put Euros in the post as it was so little money. We took an 8 bedder to sleep 4 people to ensure that we had two showers and too loos (one per couple), the furniture was of a certain age but clean, everything worked. We exploded a coffee pot (she had more) and replaced it with 4 mugs which seemed to satisfy her at the end of the week. Found a canoe in the basement and used it on the Tarn. Total cost was sub Euro 550 and that included linen hire and electricity meter all of which was extra. I think if you follow my notes back to July is 07 should find some details
