Gift to take to Scotland

I am going to meet a long lost relative when I visit Scotland. I want to take a gift. Does anyone have any ideas what an older Scottish lady might like from USA? Just some little keepsake type thing that she would not find in Scotland.

Depends where you're from. A Sand dollar? a dreamcatcher? maple syrup?(attrib. Diane) a piece of music?

Do you know if she enjoys needlework of any type? My grandmother visits relatives in London and her cousins love it when she brings along crossstitch and needlepoint patterns and kits from the US.

A book that discusses your region of the US might be a nice gift. It might be enjoyable for her to be able to see the type of area that you're living in. While music is a nice idea, a lot of older people do not necessarily have cd players.

I think the book (with lovely pictures) is a great idea. You don't say if you are the only member of the family in the US. If there are more of you, how about getting everybody to write something about themselves and put the narratives, with pictures,in a scrapbook?
