Getting to Provins from Paris - Daytrip

Hello...

I'm interested in a day trip to Provins during our upcoming trip to Paris. Unfortunately, it appears that the only trains from Paris are in the afternoon.

Am I reading the schedules wrong? Are there no efficient ways of getting to Provins in the morning and returning in the late afternoon via public transport? (We have Navigo cards and will have a week pass loaded.)

Thanks.

Where do you see trains are only in the afternoon? From Gare de l'Est once an hour all day long

(My guess is you used something like Google Maps and didn't set an AM departure time)

I used the SCNF site...but, apparently wrong. Please provide the link.
Thanks.

I would agree with Janis. It appears they are hourly departures from Gare de L'Est every hour at 47 minutes past the hour. https://www.sncf.com/fr/itineraire-r...nationCP=77160

Thanks so much both of you.
This is the Transilien train P...right? Provins appears to be in the Ile de France area, so our week all-zone passes should work. Do we just use our Navigo cards to get onto the platform?

There is a train every hour, and it takes an hour to get there. Do not panic when the train leaves in the opposite direction at the next to last station. This is normal as it goes over to a different track.

We plan on the walk shown in Annabel Simms' An Hour from Paris. Any tips from Fodorites on Provins?

Just to clarify...

If we have a week-pass (all zones) on our Navigo cards, we do NOT need to buy a ticket...correct?

Thanks.

A Navigo covers the trip to Provins. No need for an additional ticket. There are no turnstiles or barriers out in the wilds, but you should still validate your Navigo on a purple target before boarding the train for your return.
