Hair is the one thing I am never afraid of trying out. It GROWS BACK! Who cares? I can't understand the women who have never changed their hair style in their entire lives. Color. Cut. Style. It always grows back. Have fun with it!

The French especially have wonderful hair styles....especially the middle age and older women.

Go for it!

One day while walking in SOHO with my daughter she just happened to "disappear" - and she had just jumped down into a below street level salon - and suddenly had a whole new style. I followed suit. it felt great and was loads of fun. We didn't know who they were - but it did turn out that the salon was somewhat famous. I don't recall the name at the moment.

When I was much younger my Mother and I went to Paris and stayed at the Relais Christine on the Rive Gauche. sigh... Those were the days. Anyway, she was the kind of woman that had her hair washed and set or blown dry every week. So naturally we had to do that in Paris. She went to a little salon- one so chic and aloof-- around the corner from the Relais and, oh my god her hair was exquisite afterwards. The Relais had recommended the salon. No cut, however. (I would just do wash and blow dry if I were you) I never saw her hair look that beautiful again and I always think of her like that with her Parisian "do". Wow. They may have put some kind of rinse on it, too. Oh, the French... they have their ways...

I am looking forward to something like that myself in Rome. What harm can be done with a wash and a dry? A cut.... Well, that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Vedette: Great story!
