Getting from the Algarve to Seville
What options are available to get from the Algarve (staying at the Sheraton Algarve) to Seville (staying at the Hotel Alfonso XIII)? We don’t have a car and prefer to take a train. Thanks.

There has never been a railway between the Algarve and Sevilla. There are buses from Faro to Sevilla (www.eva-bus.com and www.damas-sa.es), or you can take a Portuguese bus or train to Vila Real de Santo Antonio, then a ferry, bus or taxi to Ayamonte on the other side of the River Guadiana, then a bus to Sevilla (www.damas-sa.es).

I checked the EVA website and it appears there are two buses daily running from the Algarve to Seville. You did not mention the name of the town the Sheraton is in so I just plugged in Lagos. There are also two buses daily doing the Seville / Algarve trip. You would have to further peruse the bus websites to determine which days are included in the schedule.

Since this question comes up often, I have prepared a "Seville to Lisbon by Public Transit - Cheat Sheet" which includes an option that takes one via the Algarve. (The reverse direction would use the same information.)
