Getting from Luzern to Rigi-Kaltbald

What is the best way to get to Rigi-Kaltbald from Luzern? No car.

We are trying to get on Cog rail and go to Mineral Hot Springs in Rigi-Kaltbald.

Alternatively we are looking for 'Pearls of Switzerland' that include cheese making, dairy and cog-wheel.
Does anyone know of a tour company that offers this particular tour?

Thanks!

You can consult rome2rio.com -- just be sure to click through to the underlying links, as the main site is not sensitive to seasonal variation.

Or even better -- use ssb's advanced search option.

>>> this particular tour
What are your objectives?
Is this a day trip from Luzern or are you traveling with luggage to stay overnights in Rigi-Kaltbad?
Are you just going to the Rigi-Kaltbad or visiting the top of the Mt. Rigi also?
There are two ways to Rigi-Kaltbad.
1. Luzern-Vitznau by boat, then cog-wheel to Rigi-Kaltbad. The cog-wheel train station is practically next to the boat dock and is better if you are with luggage or have mobility issue.
2. Luzern-Weggis by boat, (same boat, one stop before Vitznau) then aerial cable car to Rigi-Kaltbad. The view is spectacular from the aerial cable car, BUT it is a trek up/down between the Weggis boat dock to the Weggis aerial cable car station.

No need to make any reservations or pre-purchase on boats or train and may not even be possible - just buy tickets as go along.

there is a third way to go between Lucerne and Rigi-Kaltbad - all by train - Lucerne to Arth-Goldau and then train to Rigi stations. but boat is nicer. I went one way via Vitznau and cog rail and came back via Arth-Goldau - also a scenic trip. Could be useful if not heading back to Lucerne as Arth-Goldau is on mainline Zurich-Lugano-Lake Como-Milan.

Hello and thanks for your message. Our objective is to get to the Mineral Pools at Rigi Kaltbad and spend the day there. Is this possible for a one day excursion from Luzern? We will not be staying overnight and will have a day bag with us (and most likely a walker) as my mom is 82 and has some mobility challenges. It sounds like the suggestions you have given, it might be better for us to take Luzern-Vitznau by boat and then the cog wheel. Once we get off cog wheel we would take an UBER or cab to the mineral spa unless you suggest otherwise?

The spa website should have relevant info of getting there by train.

And plenty of time for a day trip - probably 2 hours max each way.

There is neither a road nor a uber or taxi at Rigi Kaltbad. Reach the Spa on foot (100 metres/300 feet from the railway station) or forget it.

Probably takes 100 metres or more to get out of train station - so if can walk thru station can walk to spa.
