Germany in November
A friend and I will be making our first visit to Germany in late November. We will be staying with friends near Frankfurt, who have relocated recently and can't help much with planning. Are there any can't miss day trips or overnights you can recommend? Other important advisories for planning? We'll be there for a week. Thanks for your help in making our trip a success!

Tina: I would perform a search on this site for info pertaining to "Frankfurt" You'll get a lot of information.

Day trips can include the nearby middle Rhine River valley (west), Rothenburg on the Tauber (east), Heidelburg on the Neckar River (south) as well as the city itself.

Beginning in late November, there is an annual Kris Kringle Market right in the Romerplatz along the Main River. As far as Christmas markets go, it's a ggod one to visit. Lots of music, good food, Gluhwein, beer and articles for sale.

Have fun!

We were Germany in late November.
Thoroughly enjoyed the falling snow and evening walks in Rothenburg. In my office is a photo of my darling wife next to a 7 ft high snowman made earlier that day by children !
Perhaps because of the snow and cold, few tourists were present.
If you are going to this delightful walled city and want some suggestions, just email us.
