German bus options - what are they?
I'm thinking through various options in preparation for the likely Deutsche Bahn strike. One of these would be buses. I realize they are slow and inconvenient, but it's possible we may not have much choice.
If I go to Eurolines.com and select Germany, I get redirected to http://www.touring.de/ . The list of start and end points is hardly comprehensive. It seems relatively easy to get a bus out of Germany, but not to get a bus from one German city to another.
Is there some Greyhound-like alternative I am missing? There's also this company:
http://www.gullivers.de/english/index.html
In particular, I can't find any way to take a bus journey between Cologne and Hamburg, or between Berlin and Cologne. Is there some method?

willtravel,
exactly because the Deutsche Bahn offers all options from slow and cheap to fast and expensive, there are no intercity buses in Germany. Simply not existent.
The only exception is the BerlinLinienBus between Hamburg and Berlin.

Your choices are flights, rental car or train.

Thanks for your help.
I guess the worst case scenario is that I will have to travel by bus to get out of Germany, rather than traveling by train within Germany. I hope we'll find out more about the planned extent of this likely strike, although I've seen references to an "unlimited" strike.

It simply means they havenīt decided yet what form the strikes will take. Wait and see.
