Geneva to Zermatt by train
Does anyone know the name of the train station in Zermatt? Must you go to Visp and if so what happens from there?
Am assuming I would take the train from the Geneva Airport, yes?
Am not sure how big Zermatt is, altho I don't think it's very large, but I want to find a hotel or apartment near the train station in Zermatt for a couple of days. Any hotel suggestions are appreciated.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks Forumites!

Station is called Zermatt. The train change does happen at Visp, and from there you take a train to Zermatt.
You could take the train to Visp from Geneve-Aeroport or from Cornavin in the city center. It takes as little as 3h35 min (that's how long it took when I went in 2011).

Zermatt's pretty small. I did it as a daytrip, actually (not at all what I would recommend, but it's all the time I had for it), so I don't have any good hotel/apt recommendations, but I'm certain others will.
