Gee - I Love Computers!

Had to say, no wonder we're hooked. Name a topic, no matter how obscure and there is now a web page! I love the fact that you can follow a thread and say hey (for eg.) what's a Sketcher? You don't just get the description you get the website (which of course you have to follow). My husband asks what am I doing for hours on the computer.... I following links of course.... it's much more compulsive than shopping. I just can't resist as you never know what your going to find at the end! and then the new end and the new end!!! Any one else suffering from my problem? - Gayle

Sorry, I didnt explain that this gush of affection was brought on from the Sketchers question on the Sneakers in Paris thread - which sent me onto a Sketchers web.
(I do actually realise that this is the Europe Forum!) - Gayle

Yes, Gayle, I share the same problem. As the poster of the sketchers web page, I know exactly what you are talking about!
EX. I looked up one painting today in a Moscow museum and I was off on a tear for twenty minutes. Lost and loving it.
Last night I saw an expert talking about the Middle East situation on CNN and I thought, hey, bet he's the son of the guy who used to head up the Russian Studies Area at Harvard. Went to the web, found tons of stuff including a long dialogue from Booknotes in the midst of which it said, yes indeedy, that man was his daddy.
The web, an amazing thing, getting more so every day.

Yes, it is truly amazing and wonderful. I built a genealogy website last year and couldn't believe how many people had already done this and probably spent a month just looking at their sites. I also wanted photos on my website and got into studying Vincent Van Gogh and looked at his websites and on and on. I found so many I liked I had to list them under 'favorites' on my site. My site is at www.dutchnsuch.com Tells about my Grandmother Frouke Dykstra and her stamina in surviving WWII in Holland as a widow with 7 children and how the brought them to America where the 2nd and 3rd generations are thriving.

Yes, I'm afraid my husband is thinking about sending me to a 12 step program for Fodor's addicts. Yikes.
