safe hotels for women in London

This is my third trip to London in three years but my first alone. I need a hotel located within a short walking distance from a safe tube station i.e., Gloucester. I leave Oct.12. Just discovered this website. thanks

I stayed in the Grosvenor Court Hotel in Bayswater. 5 minute walk from Paddington Station. I was with 2 girlfriends and we felt very safe.
I often travelled from Paddington to Camden at night via the tube to visit my brother, no problems at all.
Have a great trip.

Fodors

As a Londoner, I'm interested. Can you please say at which tube station you felt unsafe during your previous two visits ? Then I may well be able to advise you.

Welcome back

Ben Haines

Across the street from the Gloucester Rd tube stop is Bailey's Milennium hotel, highly recommended. Don't know if it fits your budget.
I suggest Hotel Europe. It's right off the Gloucester Rd tube (on Cromwell Rd). It's where I always stay when travelling alone and the staff are very friendly and helpful if they know you're traveling alone. In fact, they keep an eye out for you!

I recently stayed at the Forum Hotel in London, which is right next to the Gloucester Road tube station, and I can recommend it. There are quite a few hotels in this area, off of Cromwell Road and the surrounding streets. Based on the recommendations given by other posters, you should have a good choice.
