GCT in Costa Del Sol
I'm looking for any negative comments or experiences anybody has had traveling with Grand Circle Travel to the Canary Islands and the Costa Del Sol. Anything: about the agency itself; Their prices compared to others; food; tour guides; hostesses; facilities, etc. My current plans are to visit both places this late October and
early November. Any information would be appreciated. THANKS to all who respond.
Dear Brad
I can't come up with any negative comments but my husband and I have traveled with Grand Circle Travel over 10 times, most of which were to Costa DelSol area and ;have always had positive experiences. Of course if you are not into group travel, that is one thing, however the trips we have taken you can be as individual as you want or go to every planned tour, etc. They take good care of you and last year a fellow traveler had medical problems (always take the extra insurance if you are on medicare (does ;not cover out of the country) as it certainly saved that person a lot of money out of pocket. But the travel experience has always been great. Have also gone with Saga but somehow think Grand Circle has the added edge. Happy traveling. Mary J:ayne

Thanks for your response. Have you ever stayed at the Hotel Sol Don Pedro (not the Hotel Don Pablo) during your stays in the Costa Del Sol. Comments received from others indicate this is Motel type addition to the Don Pablo with very small rooms and no views. Appreciate response. Thanks again.

Brad:
Don Pedro is a smaller hotel, 5 floors if I remember, next door to Don Pablo, sharing the same grounds. We've gone with GCT and Saga before and rate both highly. This year Jan-Feb, was GCT 21 Days Iberia Tour, starting in Portugal at Cascais, then onto the Algarve at Albufeira, finishing up at Torremolinos. Luis, the tour guide in both places in Portugal, was the very best. Hope you get him! Tour guide in Spain, could have been more informative. I mean, we'd pass ruins of Moorish fortresses and other things of interest and he'd not say a word, until the people got angry and shouted, "What are we passing, what is that over there, etc?" Food with both companies has been excellent, as were accomodations. With Saga, hotels were good, as was food and tour guides very informative.
Bob K.

Thanks for your very informative responses. I will certainly consider them when I get to the Costa Del Sol. I have not traveled with Saga yet, but have heard their prices were about the same as GCT. All of this sounds GREAT to a couple who loves to travel. Thanks again.
