Gatwick Express

If I understand correctly I can buy my ticket once I board and can use VISA for the purchase. If that is so, what, if any, advantage is there to an advance purchase?
Thanks.

I've never been able to see an advantage.

If you go to http://www.gatwickexpress.co.uk/
you will see that there are special offers if you by in advance.

One their website, they usually offer a 4-for-2 sale, and sometimes a 2-for-1 sale.

Thank you. As I am travelling alone none of the deals worked for me, but that is a great tip for future reference.
