Garmin GPS Map Update

If I update my Garmin Nuvi 370 (North America and Europe) with a North America update, will I lose the European maps? I don't have a European trip planned any time soon but I don't want to lose it.
Thanks!

I updated my USA/Canada maps recently on my 265. European maps were not affected.

Note that OEM updates are available for considerably less on Amazon.com

Thanks djkbooks. I was those on Amazon but they get horrible reviews--lots of problems and Amazon nor the company selling them want to help make them work.

I just received the Garmin nuMaps Lifetime card I ordered on Amazon. It's looks to be OEM.

Anyway, I followed the directions and updated my maps this afternoon. I did encounter a small problem, phoned Garmin, got it resolved, and all is well. Everything is done through the Garmin website.

I ordered the lifetime N. America and Europe updates from Garmin. I didn't even think to look elsewhere.
I haven't had the time to update yet but they were updated separately.
You could do one, or the other or both is my understanding.

P.S. I just looked at Amazon and if I read it correctly, I paid the same price for my updates from Garmin as Amazon is offering them.

To the above posters: Have any of you used the Garmin Euro maps in the past? I am debating whether to download those to the Garmin we already own or buy a separate Tom Tom with Euro maps pre-loaded off eBay. I have seen mixed reviews on the Garmin system in Europe as opposed to Tom Tom, but would rather stick with the system we already have if it'll work well enough.

Our Garmin Nuvi 370 has worked well for driving - even the smallest roads seem to be there. But, it does have trouble in cities, particularly older cities with irregular streets.

I have used my Garmin in Europe with only one problem (and that might have been user error )

I just bought the lifetime updates a few years ago. Over the long run I expect it's cheaper...(I travel a lot in the US so it's important to update it)

This may sound like a stupid question as I don;t know much about GPS' but is there anything on the market that's good without a car?

<<good without a car?>>

Sure - just select a model which allows you to change the mode from driving to walking.

And research which makes/models have good
battery life. ConsumerReports.org would be
a good place to start checking...
