Mari,
Gaeta is a lovely city!
I wish we had spent more time just hanging out there.
Every day I could look at the city from my hotel room terrace, and watching the golden light (from both the sunrises, and sunsets) illuminating the small pennisula.
On the 4th July, the U.S 6th Fleet set off a fantastic fireworks display over the water which we watched from our balcony, and was a real treat for the children.
there are some beautiful churches, and the Montagna Spaccata(split mountain) with it's church was a real treat for us.
My newly made friends, Bruna and her husband , Lelo, took us around one late afternoon.
As far as posting pics,
how does one go about that?

I will be trying to write more about our trip, including Geata.
But, things are "summer vacation" busy around here with the children.
If I can't get them onto sally's site, I would be happy to send you a copy or two, when I get around to making up dups.

There are 2 sites I found with great Gaeta pics
1-www.nsa.naples.navy.mil/gaetansa/
mainfsc.html
2-geocities.com/devotus/photos/
Italia2000-1.html

I definitely would like to return to that city!
Do you have any relatives still there?

I was in Gaeta in 1990 when my sister-in-law and her family were living there. We really enjoyed the area. If it's still around, there's a great restaurant in Formia (about 4 miles away) called Nostromos. Absolutely delicious food! We were the only tourists there; lots of fishermen enjoying the fresh seafood and pasta.
