Furth near Nuremberg

For some reason I've booked a hotel in Furth for the three nights we're staying in Nuremberg. It looks cute enough and it's very reasonable, but I'm wondering if there is anywhere in Furth to wander before and after dinner and if we will need to drive to Nuremberg city center for dinners. Anyone ever stay in Furth? Info gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

Fürth is an industrial town and not too exciting. They have a riverwalk which may be a good place for an evening stroll (depending on the exact location of your hotel).

The best thing: The train ride from Fürth to Nürnberg is 8 minutes.

For public transport, see:

When looking up train connections, remember that the name of the city is either "Fürth" or "Fuerth" - otherwise you'll be sent to Furth im Wald, which is in the Bavarian Forest.

If you are talking about Furth am Wald which seems to be the closest "Furth" to Nuremberg, it looks OK. Not much info in English, but have you looked at their website:

http://www.furth.de/

You might also contact the tourist information office and ask if they have any info in English.

Sorry, quokka is right. You definitely need to look for either Fürth or Fuerth, NOT Furth. My bad.

Thanks. Yes, I keep having problems spelling and finding both Furth and Nurnberg. Thanks for the info on the 8 minute train but all in all, it sounds like I might be well advised to cancel my reservations in Furth and rebook in Nuremberg. Appreciate your help.

Julie, you are probably right about just staying in Nuremberg. YOu'll probably have many more choices of places to eat and things to do. And sometimes taking a train back and forth is more hassle than it's worth, especially when you are tired.
