From Heathrow to Garden Court Hotel

The eternal question:
How do I get from the airport to my hotel???

If you can help me out, I'd appreciate it. How do I get from the Heathrow airport to the Garden Court Hotel via the tube? The nearest tube stops are Bayswater and Queensway. Thanks,

Vanessa

You can take the Underground right from Heathrow on the Piccadilly Line to the Earl's Court Station, change to District Line north bound to Bayswater Station. Simple but will take a while. You can also take the train from Heathrow (the Heathrow Express) right to Paddington Station, then it is a short cab ride to the Bayswater area. That would be faster but more expensive. See the links below for information on the Underground.

http://www.airwaise.com/airports/eur.../LHRtube2.html

http://freezone.exmachina.net/PLATT/tube.html

If fast is important take the train/cab.
If cheap is important take the Underground (unless you have tons of luggage, then it can be a bit of a hassle).

If there are more then one of you and you have luggage have a driver service pick you up. It's a flat 35 pounds fee and they meet you when you come out of immigration (they hold asign with yor name on it). No fuss, no bother -- and certainly no dragging luggage on and off public transportation after a long flight. A regular cab is expensive, don't do that unless you have money to throw away. There are several companies that do pickup/drop off services, just do a web check. One I've used is
www.chauffuer.co.uk. another is called London Transport. If you take the train into Paddington you will still have to take a cab to your hotel so it gets expensive that way if there is more then one of you as well. We always use a driver service and it's the best investment of our trip because of the jet lag factor (we fly from west coast).

Thanks so much for the help! I was so confused about the District line on my map. It branches out in all sorts of directions. So just take it North, got it! And Lori, that driver service does sound tempting.

Thanks,

Vanessa

I second Lori's advice. We just returned from a week in UK and had a driver service pick us up at the airport. We used Solar Cars, recommended to us, and we were quite pleased with the service. They don't have a website but if you need a fax number, it +44(020)8874 3228.

Have a nice time in London.
