From Brugges and Brussels to Paris

Please, I need some information about how to go from Brussels to Brugges and after to Paris. Is there a train line between this cities? How many it cost? How many km is Brugges far from Paris? We are planning to go there in mid-March and April, is the weather still cold in this period? Thanks for any tip.

Daniela,
From Brussels to Brugge is 97 km, the train ride takes 50 min. and the actual price for a one-way ticket in 2nd class is 390 BEF (= about US$ 9.50).
From Brussels to Paris is approx. 300 km and the train ride with Thalys (high speed train) from Bruxelles Midi to Paris Nord takes about 1 hour and 20 min. You should have reservation for the Thalys train and the price depends on how much in advance your reservation has been made (last minute booking will be the most expensive).
Actually there is a "promo-duo" from Brussels to Paris, this means two tickets for approximately the price of one.
Check their website: www.thalys.com.

Regarding the weather in March/April: here in Belgium the weather is very unpredictible. We have had snow in April but sometimes we have 20°C around Easter, so it is very difficult to say.

Daniela -- We did this trip a few years ago -- all by train. Trains between Brussles and Bruges are frequent and cheap. The two cities are very close...we then took a speedy train from Bruges (or perhaps we returned to Brussles) to Paris...about 4 hours, I think. Don't remember prices, but not bad. It was VERY croweded, however, so get there early...Weather will be cold enough to require a light coat with a sweater underneath for sudden cold snaps--Joanie

Thomas,
Small correction: the Thalys is no chunnel train simply because there is no tunnel between France and Belgium.
There are Thalys trains every hour from Paris Nord to Bruxelles Midi.
The Thalys website www.thalys.com provides all information, timetables (departure = Paris Nord ; arrival = Bruxelles Midi), special offers, etc. also in English. I think that you can even book on line.
As I said before the ride takes only 1 hour and 20 min. Try to avoid holiday periods or book far in advance.
