Frankfurt Hotel near Gargantua Restaurant

Any suggestions for a pleasant hotel within walking distance of the Gargantua Restaurant, and within walking distance of a U-Bahn station? Thanks!

I should have mentioned the Gargantua is at Liebigstrasse 47, near the Gruneburgpark.

Interesting, E.

Most people ask for a restaurant near a hotel.

What draws you to the Gargantua Restaurant?

Our two homes are on opposite sides of the world, and there are no easy air links between the two. Thus, we often have to overnight in one European gateway city or another on our way to and from Greece. To make these overnights special -- and to break up the tedium of multiple airplane flights -- we have developed the habit of planning our necessary overnights around one fabulous restaurant or another. The chef at Gargantua, Klaus Trebes, has the reputation for being very creative with local ingredients. So that is where we are heading.

Many of these creative restaurants, including Gargantua, are not smack-dab in the middle of town or right next to the major hotels. Since we prefer not to mess with cabs or buses after a wonderful meal, we try to find hotels near the chosen restaurant. Quirky? Perhaps. Very fun for those of us who travel on our stomachs? Definitely!
