Frankfort to Paris
My husband and I are travelling to Europe for the first time in April. The plane lands in Frankfort where we intend to stay for a couple of days and leave April 27 for Paris. We've been told that flying within Europe is dirt cheap but we can't seem to find anything less than $400 Canadian. I've seen one post on this, but any other suggestions?

Hi Bonita - Try Air Berlin:
http://www.airberlin.com
Best fares appear to be under € 100.
For other options see:

Hope this helps ...

Check kayak.com as well. While not dirt cheap, Lufthansa and Air France have flights for $US 160-175 incl taxes. This is for a round trip, but I would just toss the second half as one-way costs $US 600 (unless you take BA with a connection in London). You might also try playing with the return date as there might be chaper options. To compare, the total fare (for 2 people) for the train (Thalys via Cologne) would be EUR 260 ($US 342) and take 6 hours.

You can fly Air Berlin for as little as 89 EUR pp one way. You need to change planes in Nuremberg and it takes about 3.5 hrs. Factoring check in time and travel time to and from the airport, not to mention all the hassles flying entails (delays, security lines, baggage restrictions, etc.) it is slightly quicker, less expensive and much easier to take the train.
There is a mid morning and an early afternoon direct train between Frankfurt and Paris that takes just over 6 hours and costs around 86 EUR per person.
