France Itinerary
We want to spend 2 weeks in France, begin and end in Paris. Would like to tour by train. Could use help with cities and hotels. Time frame June or Oct/Nov 2008
Here's what I am thinking now...
Paris 4 days
Dijon 2 "
Nice 2 "
Avignon 2 "
Bordeaux 2 "
then where??? Are days enough or too many for some of these?
We are very flexible.
Back to Paris to fly home.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks!!!!!

Whatever you do go to Chartres it is a short train ride and a wonderful place with a world famous Cathedral. Also Orleans, Reims, Amiens Cathedral, are short train rides. I have a couple of agendas and some pictures on my web site emilyandjim.info. Also ride the bus as much as possible in Paris. I have a short video of a bus ride in Paris on the site.

You've already got 12 days accounted for. Are the 14 days on the ground, or including arrival and departure days?
At any rate, much as I love Bordeaux, it doesn't fit well into this itinerary. I'd add another day to Paris and another to Nice and that would be just about right. No need to cram another destination in. If you actually have 14 days on the ground, add 2 days to Paris, 1 to Avignon, and 1 to Nice.
