Fouquet's in Paris

Is Fouquet's on the Champs Elysees open now after remodeling?

Even if it is - you're better off just snapping a photo and enjoying yourself elsewhere - where you'll find better food and service and more appealing ambience. When we were there year before last, it was really and truly and WAY overpriced "tourist destination" with ridiculous prices, substandard food, poor service, and the snootiest of attitudes imaginable. There are so many places up and down the Champs Elysees to sit and enjoy and snack/beverage, along with the "passing parade". For that matter, there are far superior places all over Paris to accomplish same.

We enjoyed the food we had at Fouquet's three years ago. We spent about $80 for two. You can get as good for much less at other places, however. The staff we encountered did seem a little less friendly than at other eating places, but overall we had a good meal.

Don't know if it matters, but we ate inside the restaurant in the little section as you go in. I know a lot of people eat outside.

I am not positive, but I thought I either read here or somewhere else recently that it is open. You may want to do a search on posts regarding Paris and browse through them.

Yes, it's open. It's OK for a pricey espresso at a famous sidewalk location, but not much else.

Thanks for the info on the opening. I agree it is pricey but it is pleasantly crowded usually and the outside is a bit nice I think. I have pleasant memories of it even tho' I was surprised at the bill for two cognacs. But it is Paris!
