It must be a new mayor; the last one was trying to <b>discourage</b> mass tourism in the form of day trippers...

Yes, that's truly surprising... or should I say shocking?
Anyway: it's NOT a new mayor. Massimo Cacciari has been mayor since I-don't-know, but for a really, really long period. He is one of the most famous and - hard to believe following these news - most intelligent politicians of Italy: a philosopher and university prof by profession.
