Go to www.trenitalia.it and look up the schedule for the train on which you are booked. Click on the arrow for that train in the seclect column and you get more information about the train, including what services are available.

twenj

Peggi- we took an overnite 1st class accom. from Rome to Heidelberg and ther was NO dining car-nor was there any snack food being sold on platform near train...advise to carry a loaf of bread and some cheese and bottle of wine in case you find yourself without food.

Fodors

Only a few night trains in Europe have restaurant or buffet cars, since most of the night their customers would be asleep. Many of the fastest day trains have such cars.

I'm afraid I know no train from Rome to Heidelberg, so can't comment on that. The Capri Express from Rome at 2131 to Munich at 0826, and the connecting InterCity train from Munich at 0846 to Heidelberg at 1152, both have buffet cars.

Please write if I can comment further.

Ben Haines, London
