Food or Tapas tours in Madrid and/or Barcelona

I'll be in Barcelona (Sun-Wed) and Madrid (Wed-Sat) next week and am looking for any food or tapas tours. While in New York I took a great Food tour of the West Village where we had a tour guide and group of people and we stopped several local restaurants and stores along the way for small samples of what they serve. I'm looking for something similar in Barcelona and/or Madrid. An evening Tapas tour would be great too. I found one web site of a company with a tapas tour, but they mentioned it was currently on hiatus. Any suggestions from fellow Fodorites?

universitylad,
I believe the Madrid company you may be referring to, temporarily on hiatus, is Walks of Spain.

Here are the other companies in Madrid that do evening wine & tapas tours-

and the tapas tour offered by Le Tango-

Le Tango also offers a Barcelona tapas tour-

And Jordan Susselman's enterprise, "Hi, This is Barcelona" offers tapas and wine tours-

As does the Barcelona Tourist Board offers a Gourmet Walk that's bookable on line-

I lived in Madrid for 5 years- for tapas go to the street called "Cava Baja" which is in the La Latina neighborhood, five minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. It has many tapas places along a very cute narrow street. I don't know about tours, since tapas bars are busy and crowded and wouldn't be very conducive to a guided group. You can certainly sample all kinds of tapas here though. Don't miss el Almendro as a final stop.
