Font de Gaume-How are payments processed?

I have a reservation for a tour in 16 days and payment must be made at least 15 days in advance. I sent my credit card information 2 days ago and received an email that day thanking me for my payment and telling me the time to arrive. All seems great.

Oddly, nothing has shown up on my credit card, so I called Font de Gaume and confirmed with a real person that we're confirmed with payment. Do they not run the credit card right away? I noticed that there's neither a charge nor a declination on my credit card, so I called them and they found nothing from France has been accepted or declined in the last week.

Admittedly, I'm a bit obsessive in trying to make sure things are straightened out before we leave for France, especially for a tour that requires payment 15 days in advance when we're at 16 days now, but would anyone know how credit card payments are processed for Font de Gaume tours?

Merci.

I don't think you have to worry. We went to Font de Gaume last year and also made a reservation online. No problems, however I didn't check to see if it was charged. Two days is not a long time to wait for some charge to appear on your cc. Of course, you could email them to make sure if you're so worried.

We got an email almost immediately that our payment was initially rejected. I had to get the bank to allow it, contact them again and it went through. I do belive there was a bit of a delay in it showing up. So if it were a problem, you would know by now. Have fun. I am reallylooking forward to it also.

Many thanks. I'm done worrying about it--I have too many other real things to worry about over the next week before we leave.

You might take a copy of the e-mail they sent you in which they thank you for your payment and provide you with information about your arrival. It is a magnificent place - enjoy!

Glad you're done worrying about it, as yes, it does seem obsessive. It's a small operation, as you'll see when you get there, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it took a few days for them to process your payment. Just take a copy of your correspondence with you when you go and all will be fine.
