"now you know why we won that revolutionary war against you"

Why the French won the revolutionary war you mean, just to stir the pot a bit.

This is funny but I must catch the 6AM bus to downtown Honolulu. FYI, the picture, a lot of sleepy multi-cultural middle class workers, a number in aloha shirts off to start the work day.

And you would love it because the sun is coming up over HNL which has minimal air polution, quite a change from NYC. Happy to be here.

There is a great deal of divisiveness in the lounge, which I think represents the divisive feelings of the country in general. We can only hope that we are finding our saner side through this mess.

I don't mind at all that this is a predominantly American board - I find it interesting - particularly the cross cultural political bits.

I do feel a bit perturbed at times when I give touristic advice about where I live or where I have lived and I get flamed by people who have visited there for one day.

of course Gore never said any such thing - another example of the Lounge's preposterous right-wing wacko attacts with no basis to them.

Beans - your creative inventive use of words is typical of Fox Noise that's branwashed you

Get out a dictionary.

Look up invented

Look up took the initiative in creating

Internet was there - already invented, as a tool for defense department i believe to do secure e-mails and then refined at Univ of Illinois - the background i'm hazy on but makes no different

Al Gore did NOT say he invented the Internets - that was an invention of yours

He did say he as a Senator he took the initiative in terms of funding to broaden the Internets, which is true

But your mixing up the words is another example of your unconscionable bending of facts to create your own discrediting anti-left statements.

I wonder if Al Gore created the internet just so that 15 years later he could create global warming as a result of too much energy consumption?

hmmm...

Sarah OP - see what ruins the Lounge as a viable forum of intelligent discourse?

funny that one who uses the term right wing wacko would attempt to give a lecture on intelligent discourse.
