Flying from Paris to Munich

I'm helping friends plan their trip to Europe this summer. They want to fly from Paris to Munich on August 1. I've been looking for an inexpensive one-way flight for them, but can't seem to find anything less than about $400. I've heard that some of the small regional airlines sometimes have special fares for $99 for a one-way trip such as this, but those flights seem originate in London.

Does anyone have information that would help out here?

Thanks in advance.

If you are holding a trans Atlantic ticket on either Lufthansa or United, Lufthansa will sometimes offer a $89 one way fare to anywhere they fly. Check out their websight or call them direct.

Why not take the train? There is an overnight that leaves Paris at about 10:30 pm and gets to Munich the next morning about 9:00am.

The fastest run time from Paris to Munich is about 8 and a half hours.
You can leave Paris East at
7:49 and arrive in Munich about 16:17.
The price for second class is 103 euros and 154 euros for first class.
The night trains take at least an hour and a half longer, and on some of them you need to change.
In reading about couchettes I don't think they would be very comfortable.
Otherwise, you can get a reclining seat.

Betsy, oddly enough a cheaper flight option is to fly round trip. A round trip flight from MUC to PAR and back is about $181 on expedia (you may be able to find better than that though).Of course you will have to throw away the return ticket, I don't see why this wouldn't be legal. I will be going from Munich to Paris this summer and I will be taking the train. I see this as an opportunity to see the french countryside rather than just the airports. Good Luck
