Florence internet cafes

Anyone see any internet cafes in central Firenze? Where and how much are they? Anything around Piazza della Signoria? Slow modems? Grazie' amici!

I saw an internet cafe between train station and Duomo, but I didn't use it. Just to let you know that they exist.

ciao dave

while walking through our town i noticed the one ore other internet spot. i can't tell you nothing about cost or how fast the modems are but there are two spots who are more or less new: one is called "the internettrain" and is in borgo san jacobo (if you are passing ponte vecchio coming from the duomo, turn emmediately after the bridge right and after a few passes you find it on your right side). the other one is in via dei neri, going from palazzo vecchio towards piazza st. croce you find it in the middle of via dei neri on your right side, i can't remember the name but you will see it for sure. both are in the storic center.

saluti

christina

Although I can not comment on NetGate in Florence, these same people also have a location in Rome, and it is outstandingly good. High speed, with speakers and mics too, in case you want to make "phone calls" (freetel, netmeeting, yahoo, etc). Excellent staff too.

I used Netgate while in Florence in November, '99, and they had at least 3 locations in the center then. Fast connections, choice of Italian or US keyboards, fairly long hours, and plenty of helpful, English-speaking staff to answer questions if you needed them. You pay for a certain amount of time in advance, and then you can stop in and use it whenever you like.
