Florence...Hotel Pendini , Hotel Continental or ?
Any reports on the above hotels ? Quad room at the Pendini and the penthouse at the Continental.(Continental is the sister hotel to the Lungarno and is twice the price of the Pendini at 300,000 lira) There are two adults and 2 teenagers.Any other suggestions for January?

If your stay in January doesn't include days 12 through 15, one of the best buys should be the 4-star hotel Ritz, run by the same people of the Pendini. A family suite for 4 is rated at Lit 350,000. We stayed at both, the Ritz and the Pendini. Though the location of the Ritz is not as central as the Pendini (the Ritz lays along the Arno, very near Santa Croce church, a 10-min stroll to Piazza della Signoria) at this price difference we would stay with it without a 2nd thought.
Paulo
Good evening, Sophie
Have used the HOTEL CONTINENTAL, about
8 times since 1978, when the rate was
$43.03 per nite for a double. Street
side rooms on the Lungarno are noisy
at night. The Continental is part
of a three chain hotels, (www.lungarnohotels.it/) The LUNGARNO
Hotel is just across the river and has
rooms on the Arno. A good data base
is www.enit.it/eng/ search in dbase2.ipzs.it/ Good surfing
Richard of Hickory Hills.
Firenze hotels (www.florence.ala.it/)
rjv
