Would like to know if the hotel Sina Villa Medici is a good choice to stay for 5 nights? Is it walking distance to the city center? Any suggestions or information is greatly appreciated. Also, planning on a mid November trip. Thank you.

Sorry, no firsthand knowledge but using the directions feature at the site, it looks like a 15- to 20-minute walk to the the tourist area from the hotel. Also, it's a 5-star hotel...only you can decide if price and distance are ok.

It is a little out of the ancient centre. I'm european so I'd not want to travel to Italy to stay in an American hotel, but we all like different things. If it costs you nothing then go for it, if you want to stay more in of an ancient place stay nearer the centre. Notes as above.

We felt the same way about American hotels, bilboburgler, and avoided them. When we finally did stay at a Holiday Inn in Sicily, we were delighted to find that the food and staff were Italian all the way. Not always, but generally the level of comfort is converging in the chain hotels.

I guess it depends on you and your fitness level, but I would consider that easy walking distance to the major sights: 20 minute flat walk to the Duomo, for example. Moreover, Florence's historic core is so mobbed with visitors, I personally prefer to stay a bit out of the dead-center. Others, of course, like to be in the thick of things.
