Floating down the Aare River from Bern

My fiancee wants to float down the Aare River - we are staying in Bern. Any suggestions on how to achieve this adventure? Where should be start? How long will it take? Is there a guide or organization that will take you down the river? Should we plan the whole day? How safe is it? How cold is it? I know these are a lot of questions, but any suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you,
Anne

Twenty seconds on Google would have given you this:

The river is 183 miles long, and sounds cold as hell, coming off the glaciers, as it does.
