Flights from Sicily to the mainland

Hello. After a quick unsuccessful attempt at Alitalia's website, I just thought I'd ask in a forum. If I were in Taormina, Sicily and didn't want to drive, where would I catch a plane to fly to Foggia, Province of Foggia (up toward Gargano Peninsula)?
TIA

Foggia airport doesn't have scheduled flights, but you can fly from Catania to Bari and take a train to Foggia. Or fly to Naples, but it's a bit further from Foggia.

Both flights are operated by Volotea.

Or just take a train, direct from Taormina to Naples then Foggia - the Catania-Taormina-Naples trains go on to the train ferry to cross the Straits of Messina, so 'soulless flight' becomes 'unique experience'.

Take a bottle of wine and picnic and chill out. Great scenery along the coast from the toe of Italy. Or use the sleeper and save time and a hotel bill!

Book at https://www.trenitalia.com - Taormina to Naples starts at €19.90 ($24?) in 2nd class or €29.90 in 1st class.

See photos, timetable, tips and route map at https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-ro...-to-sicily.htm

I love this idea! Man_in_seat_61 I'd love your advice on a good train route for getting from Rome (FCO) to Salina. Unfortunately, we can't travel too slowly, but I would love to avoid another flight and enjoy the scenery. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Check rome2rio.com -- just be sure to click through to the underlying websites, as the main page is not sensitive to seasonal variations.

Just see https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-ro...-to-sicily.htm - you can book direct at trenitalia.com or (sometimes easier) www.italiarail.com. latter charges a small fee, €3.50

Fly with Volotea from Catania to Bari. Fares start at 15 EUR (without checked in luggage).
