flights between Berlin and Prague

We are considering flying to Prague from Berlin (we would be flying from NY to Berlin; Berlin to Prague, and Prague to NY). Does anyone have any information on European airlines that fly between Berlin and Prague? I am wondering if it would be cheaper to make the Berlin-Prague reservation separately rather than do it as a multi-destination ticket (which is proving to be hideously expensive). Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

CSA flies the route twice a day - but why don't you just take the train? It doesn't take that long (less than 5 hours), and you could probably get an "open jaw" NYC to Berlin, and back from Prague without any extra costs. Also, you could break the train journey in Dresden and look around for a few hours.

We had thought about taking the train, but we only have a total of 8 days on the ground, to be divided between Berlin and Prague, and figured that 5 hours by train would eat into time that could be spent in Prague. Thanks for the CSA suggestion.

I did a quick check and here were the results if you fly CSA. They didn't seem to have a system for booking a single journey online so i guess if you book by phone it should be around half this price per adult -

I'd agree that the train would be best. Its five hours, but a plane trip will be longer. You have to take about 30-45 minutes to get from downtown to the airport. Another hour for check-in, then a one hour flight, and about 60-75 minutes to get from the airport back downtown.

Downtown to downtown, the train gets you there. Also, the open-jaw idea is best, why spend time going back to another airport?

Just another thought…If you fly you will also have to allow time for immigration. New EU to old EU is not as seamless as EU to EU. The Czech Republic and Estonia joined at the same time and we had to go through immigration earlier this year when we took a flight to Norway from Tallinn. If you go with the train, immigration is done enroute so it is included in the time.
