Don't even think of changing airports unles you plan to have an overnight stay in London. It's too expensive in time and money.

So your choice from Gatwick is Easyjet or BA.

Cheap flights are usually cheap for a reason - in many cases the low-cost airlines use airports that are not conveniently located for those transfering from one airport to another. Gatwick itself is not too handy to most places, it's South of London and it is not all that easy to get to another airport.

I'd get a flight from Gatwick to Rome and don't even think about using Luton, Stantsted or anywhere else unless you can devote alot of time getting to it. Trains and buses are not alot of fun if you have jetlag and luggage to contend with. A car service can take you from one airport to another but you will pay big bucks for that.

Also consider that the low cost airlines have very very strict luggage weight limitations. If you are over you pay.

If I were you I'd fly from Gatwick.

Hi Blondie - I would think Easyjet Gatwick-Ciampino might be your best bet:

www.easyjet.com

Hope this helps ...
